
The Indian Navy is planning to wet-lease four amphibious aircraft for four years to bolster coastal security and maritime capabilities. These aircraft, capable of landing and taking off from water and conventional runways, will support logistics, search and rescue, and disaster relief operations. The Navy has pursued such capabilities for over a decade, with previous discussions involving the ShinMaywa US-2 model and potential collaborations with manufacturers like Mahindra.
