A limited-use vehicular subway at Radha Nagar, Chromepet, has been inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin. Constructed at a cost of ₹31.62 crore, the subway replaces level crossing 27 and aims to benefit residents of several surrounding areas. The project, initially planned in 2006 as a pedestrian facility, was later converted to a vehicular subway following local demands. Activists noted the project's long and protracted completion, with railway work finished years prior.
