West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has accused the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls of being politically biased and an attempt to exclude voters. She has written to the Chief Election Commissioner alleging insensitivity and high-handedness. In response, Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari called Banerjee's allegations baseless and exaggerated, stating the SIR is exposing bogus entries and infiltrators nurtured under TMC's watch. Adhikari claims Banerjee is trying to derail the process due to its impact on TMC's electoral prospects.
