Iranian authorities are reportedly preparing to carry out the first execution linked to ongoing anti-government protests, with 26-year-old Erfan Soltani facing a death sentence by hanging. Arrested on January 8, Soltani is charged with "waging war against God." Human rights groups allege he has been denied legal counsel and a fair trial, with his family reportedly informed the sentence is final. The protests, which began over economic issues, have led to widespread demonstrations, over 600 deaths, and more than 10,000 arrests, according to activist groups.
