
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that Vande Bharat Sleeper trains will be introduced across all states, including Kerala, to facilitate overnight journeys. The first Vande Bharat Sleeper train service is slated to operate between Kolkata (Howrah) and Guwahati, enhancing connectivity. Vaishnaw stated that the train is designed for passenger comfort and safety, featuring modern amenities and the Kavach system. He also mentioned that ten more Vande Bharat Sleeper trains are expected by year-end, with production being ramped up.
