The Assam Cabinet has approved the appointment of a five-member special public prosecutor team, led by senior advocate Ziaul Kamar, to handle the Zubeen Garg death case. This decision aims to strengthen the prosecution, following an appeal from Garg's wife. The Cabinet also announced a one-time grant of Rs 5 crore to the Zubeen Garg Foundation, established by his family to preserve his memory and artistic legacy. The next court hearing is scheduled for January 17.
