The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has demanded that the Andhra Pradesh government release a White Paper on irrigation project spending in the Rayalaseema region. YSRCP spokesperson S.V. Satish Kumar Reddy challenged the Water Resources Minister's claim of ₹8,000 crore expenditure, alleging it was misleading. He urged the government to detail project-wise spending and progress, citing the urgency of the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Scheme and accusing the government of corruption and preventing site visits.
