
A prominent Kashmiri Pandit organization, Panun Kashmir, has submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister demanding statutory recognition of the 1989-90 migration and killings as "genocide." The group also reiterated its long-standing demand for a separate homeland within the Kashmir Valley under Indian protection. They described the community's displacement as a grave crime and stated that relief measures are insufficient without these foundational acts of justice.
