Reji Lucose, a prominent media face known for defending the CPI(M) and Left ideologies, has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Lucose cited ideological deviation and the CPI(M)'s alleged promotion of communalism as reasons for his departure after 35 years. He expressed admiration for the BJP's development agenda, stating Kerala risks becoming a "home of the aged" if outdated ideologies persist. State BJP chief Rajeev Chandrasekhar welcomed him, highlighting recent election results as proof of public support for the BJP's vision. A CPI(M) leader downplayed the move, calling it an attrition for greener pastures.
