Former Maharashtra DGP Shukla has recommended an FIR against ex-IPS officer Sanjay Pandey and two others for allegedly conspiring to implicate Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy CM Shinde in a 2016 extortion case. The report, based on an SIT inquiry, suggests Pandey ordered a reinvestigation of the case between 2021 and June 2024 to harass complainant Shyamsunder Agarwal and extort money. A separate extortion case was registered against Pandey and others in 2024 based on Agarwal's complaint. BJP leaders have alleged a conspiracy.
