
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has ordered the state to pay 7.5% interest on delayed pension to the family of DIG Joginder Singh Anand, 34 years after his death. The family, including his wife and son, were acquitted of charges related to his murder eight years prior. The court ruled that pension arrears should have been released upon acquittal and the state is liable for the delay.
