The Uttar Pradesh government has amended the Post-Matric Scholarship and Fee Reimbursement Scheme rules to ensure transparency in admissions to private educational institutions. Under the new regulations, students from Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and General Categories admitted through management quota, spot admissions, or other non-transparent processes will be ineligible for benefits. Institutions must now follow transparent admission procedures, including public advertisements and merit lists, and charge only approved fees to ensure genuine students receive scholarships.
