The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused the West Bengal government of a Rs 100 crore scam in flood relief compensation, particularly in Malda district. BJP National Spokesperson KK Sharma alleged widespread misappropriation of funds intended for flood victims. He cited findings from a Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report, which reportedly revealed irregularities in disbursement. The BJP described the alleged corruption as 'loot and inhuman plunder' of public funds meant for rehabilitation.
