Majnu Komath, a prominent activist and lawyer known as 'Paalam Vakkeel' (bridge lawyer), has passed away at 79. He was the driving force behind the three-decade-long agitation for the Goshree bridges in Kochi, which became a reality in 2004. Komath, a member of the CPI, united diverse political groups for the cause, viewing the bridges as essential for Goshree islanders. He continued advocating for islanders' rights, including extending bus routes to ease traffic congestion.
