West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has accused the Election Commission of deleting 54 lakh names from draft voter rolls, alleging it was done unilaterally and without proper notification to genuine voters. Banerjee claims the EC used AI tools devised by the BJP to remove names, particularly targeting women who changed surnames post-marriage. She further alleged a "BJP-EC nexus" plans to remove an additional crore names and that the process prevented voters from defending their inclusion. The Election Commission has not yet responded to these allegations.
