
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the U.S. and Ukraine discussed "some ideas" regarding the issue of territory, which remains the primary obstacle to peace talks with Russia. Zelenskyy indicated that if leaders cannot resolve territorial disputes, the matter could be escalated. White House special envoy Steve Witkoff confirmed that land options were discussed in Paris. Ukraine has reportedly refused to cede controlled land in Donbas, despite potential U.S. pressure for a swift peace deal, and has also considered a U.S. proposal for a free economic zone in exchange for withdrawing from parts of Donetsk.
