Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has fined eight students Rs 19,000 each for alleged involvement in campus violence on March 1, 2024. The violence occurred during a School General Body Meeting for student union polls, involving clashes between ABVP members and Left-backed groups. The ABVP claims all fined students are their members and alleges the university administration and JNUSU are targeting nationalist students, while the administration cited a proctorial inquiry into acts of indiscipline.
