A 26-year-old Indian merchant navy officer, Rakshit Chauhan from Himachal Pradesh, is among three Indian nationals detained on a Russian-flagged oil tanker seized by US forces in the North Atlantic. The vessel, Marinera, was intercepted for alleged sanctions violations linked to Venezuelan oil. Chauhan's family has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his safe return, especially as his wedding is scheduled for February 19. The Ministry of External Affairs is reportedly ascertaining details of the Indian nationals aboard.
