Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that over 1.56 lakh government jobs have been filled through a transparent, merit-based recruitment system, with more appointments planned before upcoming elections. This unified recruitment process, known as the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE), aims to eliminate corruption and delays. Sarma stated the model is being studied by other states and urged new appointees to uphold integrity, serve the public, and engage with their communities.
