A Ghaziabad police officer, Ajay Kumar Sharma, is under investigation after a viral video showed him allegedly threatening slum residents with a machine to verify their nationality and claim they were from Bangladesh. Police stated no formal orders for document verification were issued during the area domination exercise. Residents, who identified themselves as Indian citizens from Bihar, reported being intimidated and asked for identification. An inquiry has been initiated, and a warning issued to the officer.
