
India's first Vande Bharat Sleeper train is set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in January, operating between Kolkata and Guwahati. The 16-coach train features three classes: 1AC, 2AC, and 3AC, with fares ranging from approximately ₹2,300 to ₹3,600, including meals. Designed for overnight journeys, it boasts modern amenities like automatic doors, improved berths, enhanced safety features including the Kavach system, and region-specific cuisine. The train aims to provide a comfortable and modern long-distance travel option for middle-class families.
