The Delhi High Court has dismissed a petition filed by the Hind Samrajya Party challenging the Election Commission's authority to grant national and state-level status to political parties. The court ruled that the Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order, 1968, is constitutionally valid and that the distinction between recognized and unrecognised parties is permissible. The bench cited previous Supreme Court judgments upholding the Election Commission's powers under Article 324 of the Constitution to regulate elections and allot symbols.
