The Tamil Nadu government has ordered an investigation by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) into corruption allegations made by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) against Minister K.N. Nehru. The ED's letters, citing "ruthless corruption" in the Municipal Administration and Water Supply department, claim evidence of ₹1,020 crore in bribes from contractors. The DVAC will conduct a preliminary and detailed inquiry to establish the facts before potentially registering a case.
