The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken over a case involving the infiltration of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants from the Delhi Police's Special Cell. The Union Home Ministry directed the takeover to investigate organized networks facilitating illegal immigration and potential security concerns. The NIA has registered a fresh FIR to trace the syndicate, money trail, and wider network, expanding on the Delhi Police's initial probe which had arrested over a dozen individuals and uncovered forgery of identity documents and border crossing facilitation.
