The Delhi High Court has ruled that the right to pursue higher education, while not a fundamental right, cannot be lightly curtailed, emphasizing the state's obligation to ensure it. Justice Jasmeet Singh made this observation while reinstating a student whose medical college admission was cancelled due to alleged NEET-UG 2024 irregularities. The court noted the student was a witness, not an accused, and their academic progress was disrupted on unjustifiable grounds, ordering their continuation in MBBS classes.
