The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has begun repair work costing Rs 1.22 crore at its headquarters, including the Mayor's and committee chambers, ahead of the civic elections scheduled for January 15. These offices have been shut and in disrepair for nearly three years due to neglect and termite damage since administrator rule began in March 2022. The repairs aim to prepare the spaces for the newly elected general body and leadership.
