Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy accused former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and ex-Minister T. Harish Rao of exploiting the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS) for financial gain, similar to the Kaleshwaram project. Reddy alleged the source change from Jurala to Srisailam was intended for corruption and that the previous government compromised Telangana's Krishna River water rights. He claimed the PRLIS was misrepresented as a drinking water project to hinder its irrigation purpose for Mahabubnagar district.
