Former Kerala minister Antony Raju and a court clerk, K S Jose, have been sentenced to jail for tampering with evidence in a 1990 drug seizure case. Raju received a three-year sentence for charges including causing disappearance of evidence and giving false evidence, while Jose was sentenced to one year for criminal breach of trust. Both were convicted under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. Raju, who maintains his innocence and calls the case politically motivated, was granted bail to file an appeal.
