Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has stated that "rioters must be put in their place" amid ongoing protests, which have resulted in at least 10-15 deaths and numerous arrests. Khamenei distinguished between legitimate protesters concerned about the economy and "rioters," whom he accused of being incited by foreign powers. This comes after U.S. President Donald Trump warned of intervention if peaceful protesters are harmed, a threat Khamenei dismissed as "ranting" and "deception." The protests, fueled by economic hardship and a collapsing currency, are the most significant since 2022.
