Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh have highlighted the commissioning of the Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) Samudra Pratap. Modi stated the vessel strengthens India's self-reliance and commitment to sustainability, calling it a milestone. Singh commissioned the ship, India's first indigenously built pollution control vessel and the largest in the Coast Guard fleet. The ICGS Samudra Pratap is equipped with advanced systems for pollution response, maritime law enforcement, and search and rescue operations, enhancing India's maritime security and environmental protection capabilities.
