
Manipur security forces have arrested six cadres of the People's Liberation Army (PLA), an armed wing of the Revolutionary People's Front (RPF), since the start of 2026. The latest arrest occurred on January 11, 2026, with one activist apprehended in Imphal East district. Other arrests were made across various valley districts. Recovered items include mobile phones, Aadhaar cards, and demand letters. The PLA was founded in 1978 with the aim of establishing an independent socialist Manipur.
