India is set to host the 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth (CSPOC) from January 14-16, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event anticipates participation from 42 of 56 member nations, with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla highlighting it as the highest attendance in the conference's history. Notably, Pakistan and Bangladesh will not be represented, with Bangladesh citing parliamentary suspension and Pakistan's absence also confirmed. Discussions will focus on parliamentary values, democratic governance, and institutional cooperation.
