The Delhi government is set to declare human rabies a notifiable disease under the Epidemic Diseases Act to enhance surveillance, ensure timely reporting, and prevent deaths. This mandates all health facilities to report suspected, probable, and confirmed cases. The move aims to achieve zero human rabies deaths by strengthening vaccination facilities for humans and animals, and finalizing a State Action Plan for Rabies Elimination. Anti-rabies vaccines and serum are available at designated facilities across the city.
