Senior Maoist commander Barse Deva, a key figure in the People's Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) Battalion No. 1, surrendered to Telangana Police along with approximately 15-19 cadres. Deva, who carried a significant bounty and was considered a successor to the late Madvi Hidma, is accused of involvement in numerous attacks. His surrender is viewed by officials as a major blow and a potential turning point for the Maoist movement in central India, particularly in Chhattisgarh. The group also surrendered a large cache of weapons.
