The Central Information Commission (CIC) has upheld the denial of exporter-specific data on limestone sales to Bangladesh, citing commercial confidentiality. The CIC ruled that releasing such information could negatively impact exporters' competitive standing and found no overriding public interest to justify disclosure under the RTI Act. An applicant had sought details of exporters and quantities of limestone exported from Meghalaya to Bangladesh during the 2023-24 financial year.
