The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has ordered the closure of 16 industrial units across the National Capital Region (NCR) due to persistent and gross environmental violations. Inspections revealed issues such as operating without mandatory consent, non-functional pollution control devices, use of unapproved fuels, and non-compliance with diesel generator norms. The units, located in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Haryana, were found to be operating in disregard of environmental regulations. The CAQM stated these actions are part of an intensified drive to curb air pollution.
