In Madhya Pradesh, not a single private school has publicly disclosed its fee structure by the January 1 deadline, despite the state's Fee Regulation Act requiring this information 90 days before the academic session. The Act aims to prevent arbitrary fee hikes by mandating the disclosure of class-wise fees and previous year's increases. Last year, only about 30% of schools complied. Schools failing to comply face penalties, though none were penalized for the recent delay. An exemption exists for schools with annual fees below Rs 25,000.
