The Tamil Nadu government has amended the Combined Development and Building Rules, 2019, to relax norms for institutional and industrial development on lands designated for community recreational purposes (OSR). The changes allow OSR land to be maintained by the landowner under local body supervision, and it need not directly abut a public road if safe internal access is provided. These amendments aim to offer flexibility for development projects.
