The mortal remains of Mandeep Kumar, a 28-year-old man from Punjab, have been returned to his family after he died in the Russia-Ukraine war. Kumar was allegedly lured by travel agents with promises of work in Italy, but was instead coerced into joining the Russian army. His brother, Jagdeep Kumar, searched for him for over a year, making multiple trips to Russia and submitting DNA samples, which eventually confirmed his death in a drone strike. The family is demanding action against the agents and urging the government to prevent further recruitment of Indians.
