The Telangana Legislative Assembly has unanimously adopted a resolution opposing the Centre's new Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (Grameen) Act (VB G RAM G Act), which replaces the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy stated the new law dilutes MGNREGA's spirit, disproportionately affects the poor, women, and marginalized communities, and imposes an additional financial burden on states. The resolution demands the continuation of MGNREGA in its current form, citing its historical success in benefiting SCs, STs, and BCs in Telangana.
