The Akal Takht, the highest temporal seat of Sikhs, has directed the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) to cooperate with the Punjab government's Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the case of 328 missing sacred scriptures of Guru Granth Sahib. This marks a reversal from the Akal Takht's earlier stance against government interference. The directive emphasizes cooperation specifically regarding the alleged financial misappropriation by SGPC employees, as detailed in an inquiry report. The Akal Takht also cautioned against political exploitation of the sensitive religious issue.
