Odisha's transport department has established a five-member high-level committee to enhance safety and operational standards for the 'Ama Bus' service. This action follows the death of an autorickshaw driver in an accident involving an Ama Bus. The committee, led by Usha Padhee, will conduct regular reviews of safety measures, driver training, and passenger services. Stricter recruitment and a mandatory testing process for new drivers are being implemented to prevent future incidents. Additional mini buses will also be added to improve connectivity.
