The Assam Congress has formed a six-member committee of senior advocates to monitor the investigation and judicial proceedings in the death case of singer Zubeen Garg. This move follows the state cabinet's approval of a five-member special public prosecutor team. Garg died in Singapore on September 19. A charge sheet has been filed by the SIT, naming four individuals with murder and one with culpable homicide, while two others face charges of criminal conspiracy and breach of trust. The Congress panel aims to ensure transparency and provide public updates.
