Indian Railways is set to introduce nine new Amrit Bharat Express trains connecting West Bengal and Assam with destinations across India, including Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the routes, which aim to provide affordable, non-AC long-distance sleeper class travel. These new services, part of a broader expansion of connectivity, will add to the 30 Amrit Bharat Express trains already operational since December 2023, connecting eastern regions with southern, western, and central India.
