Sunil Kumar, Managing Director of Orange Travels and a Congress leader, has been arrested by the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) in Hyderabad for allegedly evading Rs 28.24 crore in Goods and Services Tax. Officials state Kumar collected GST from passengers but failed to deposit it with the government. Kumar, who previously contested assembly elections on Congress and BSP tickets, was produced before a court. The arrest is part of a broader crackdown on tax evasion by transport operators.
