
Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has not yet approved or rejected the state's Hate Speech and Hate Crimes (Prevention) Bill, according to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The Bill, passed by the legislature, faces opposition from the BJP, which plans to petition the Governor against its assent. Siddaramaiah stated the government is ready to provide explanations if the Governor seeks them. Meanwhile, another Bill concerning internal reservation for Scheduled Castes has been returned by the Governor's office.
