
West Bengal commemorated the 163rd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda on Monday, observed also as National Youth Day. Celebrations included special prayers at Belur Math and processions by students. Political leaders, including Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar, Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, paid tribute. Banerjee highlighted Vivekananda's ideals of patriotism, social service, and communal harmony, stating his teachings remain an inspiration and a guiding force for her and the state's social ethos.
