Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced plans for a new world-class township named Him-Chandigarh, to be developed in the Baddi area of Solan district near the Chandigarh border. The state cabinet accepted a sub-committee's report recommending the township, which will utilize land from three willing panchayats through pooling. The government aims to acquire more land and appoint consultants to ensure modern amenities, with the project expected to be completed within six months.
