The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has deployed 148 flying squads and 181 static surveillance teams to ensure a smooth and impartial BMC Election 2026. Municipal Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani has directed civic staff to be vigilant and take immediate action against violations of the Model Code of Conduct. Polling is scheduled for January 15, with teams stationed at checkpoints and patrolling wards to curb illegal activities, including the distribution of cash, liquor, and weapons, and to monitor suspicious activities and campaigning.
