The Tamil Nadu Local Bodies Ombudsman has directed the Director of Municipal Administration to take departmental action against Virudhunagar municipal officials. This action is due to alleged irregularities in property tax imposition on commercial buildings and failure to address unauthorized constructions. The Ombudsman's directive follows a complaint from a social activist regarding violations of building plans and lack of parking facilities, which reportedly caused financial loss to the local body.
